In depth

Verdict

The improving Strathmore can defy a six pound penalty and is chosen to beat Hill Of Lujain and Fuschia. Richard Fahey's charge cruised to victory at Redcar last time out, beating Almora Guru by four lengths. That was a much improved performance and there could be plenty more to come. Hill Of Lujain makes his handicap debut following some excellent efforts last season. The handicap mark doesn't look too bad and a big run is expected. Fuschia landed a Wolverhampton maiden in good style and wasn't beaten far in a decent race at Newbury last time out. Ground and trip look ideal and he can go close despite top-weight. My Love Thomas looks the pick of the others but our idea of the winner is the progressive Strathmore.
