    Verdict

An open handicap over the minimum trip in which PEGGIE SUE may follow up a dominant display when clearing away in style at Pontefract under today's apprentice pilot. Hit with a 7lb rise for that performance, she impressed sufficiently to receive the nod here, although there's a concern if the ground rides soft . Maygold, a course and distance winner, has reasonable claims from a handicapping perspective but has not been seen for 220 days. Similar comments apply to Dr Doro but Gnaad and Venturous have no fitness concerns and arrive in good form with the Alan Bailey's charge nominated as the major threat to the selection.
