Of those to have run both Capetown Girl and Delusion have shown promise, but there are a couple of interesting newcomers in Kristal's Dream and Speed Racer and it is with the latter that we side with. Mick Channon's filly is from the same family as Derby hero Shahrastani and while she will certainly stay further next year, she is also a half-sister to a couple of eight-furlong winners in France, so this trip shouldn't be a problem at this stage of her career. The opposition are also quite stoutly bred, non more so than Kristal's Dream, who is out of a mare that stayed 14-furlongs. She looks the sort to do better as a three-year-old. Capetown Girl shaped with plenty of promise on her debut behind Fairlie at Ponterfract. She was doing her best work in the closing stages that day and it remains to be seen whether this sharper six-furlongs will be in her favour, as she is from the same family as the smart stayer Give Notice. Delusion could be the one to give the selection most to do as she is more speedily bred than the majority of these. She will be all the wiser for her effort at Doncaster and could be the one to chase home Speed Racer, who runs here in preference to an engagement at Windsor over the weekend.
