In depth

Verdict

A low grade staying handicap in which the weights are headed by Turtle Valley, who is clearly on the downgrade now. He is absolutely thrown in old form, but the trouble is he hasn't shown it for quite a while. His chance is dependent on the weather, but if the track at Colwick Park gets the forecast rain, he couldn't be left out of calculations. However, failing that, the ones to concentrate on are Teoban, Living Daylights and Triplemoon, with preference for the unexposed Living Daylights. The filly is still well treated off a 5lbs higher mark than when successful at Leicester last month, and this step up in trip can bring about further improvement. Another unexposed type is Teoban, who hacked up in a moderate handicap on the All-Weather. Mark Pitman does well with the few runners he has on the flat and his charge is very much respected. Triplemoon has shaped as though she is well worth a try at this trip, but there could be one or two better treated than her. E Minor is much better treated on turf than he is on the All-Weather and should run well at a decent price.
