In depth

Verdict

Thara'a can put her fitness to good use over the likes of Tree Tops, Soviet Spirit, and the Cecil pair Pinching and Lillianna. Some well-bred fillies turn out here, but there is no substitute for track experience and with that in mind, Thara'a is taken to step up on her second to Ashwaaq at Ripon a fortnight ago. Ed Dunlop's charge was sent off as the 100-1 outsider that day but made the odds-on favourite work hard and deserves some reward. On breeding she should only just get the mile, and with conditions on the soft side she is certainly not a good thing, so only a small bet is advised. In contrast, Tree Tops should have no difficulty lasting out the trip and further in time, and shaped well enough on her Newbury introduction. However, she has three lengths to find with Pinching on that run and the latter, who suffered traffic problems is preferred. She can play a part in the finish ahead of her stablemate Lilliana and the other newcomer Soviet Spirit. For the winner we return to Thara'a.
