In depth
Verdict
Riley Boys has hit form of late and can pay to follow over Valuator, Double Vodka and Amwell Brave in the final race on the card. Having posted one or two fair efforts as a juvenile, Riley Boys returned with a bang when making all at Wolverhampton in March and then proved he could handle cut in the ground when short-headed by Phluke at Beverley 16 days ago. Although the merit of that form is questionable, James Given's inmate is at least fit and we know that he can handle the prevailing conditions. If they go up the far side, his low draw will help as well, so he looks to be the percentage call. Evaluator has the assistance of Frankie Dettori but even so has topweight to overcome, while Double Vodka, for whom Johnny Murtagh has been booked, might need this but watch out for any market moves. Amwell Brave was fancied for a maiden at Southwell last time but disappointed and has become frustrating to follow, so Riley Boys looks the pick.
