Verdict

Thaqib was a bitterly disappointing long odds-on favourite last time but had previously shown more than enough to win a race of this nature when runner-up in fair maidens at Doncaster and Ripon and should go close once again. Henry Cecil introduces Far Reaching, by Distant View out of an unraced Danzig mare, who should be noted in the market although a lack of big-race entries suggests that she is not out of the top drawer. Shahzan House may appreciate further judged on his Ripon return when a staying-on fourth while debutante Hectic Tina, out of a useful middle distance winner, is another who may find this on the sharp side.
