Verdict
CLEVER AS A FOX scored over timber at Uttoxeter on his recent comeback and handicap debut. He won a shade more cosily than the official winning-margin suggests and can go in again. Several revert to hurdling for this and have a chance including Amalfi Doug, who landed a double over fences here last autumn and is 2lb higher than his latest success while Wolfcatcher can race off an 8lb lower mark than when third over fences at Ludlow in October. Ardera Cross has won a couple of chases off a higher marks since scoring over track and trip last year and could also go well.
