Verdict
Mark Johnston's juveniles tend to improve with racing so the likelihood is that Beacon Blue will need the run and as such the vote goes to another newcomer, Cherubim, who should prove too good for the more experienced Hillside Girl and Silver Calling. David Loder's two-year-old runners have been sweeping all before them this season and Cherubim, a daughter of Sunday Silence, who is a sister to a high-class miler in Japan makes plenty of appeal on breeding. Sure to know what is required, she is taken to make a winning debut. Newcastle winner Hillside Blue was well held under a penalty at Thirsk recently and, along with Iron Temptress, is likely to do so again here. Silver Calling showed signs of ability on her debut at Goodwood and is entitled to improve. She may prove to be the main threat to the selection.
