In depth

Verdict

Wares Home and Catch The Wind probably have the best form of those with racing experience but, with neither making any great appeal, it might be worth taking a chance with one of the newcomers and the one that gets a tentative vote is Alan Berry's Countrywide Flyer. A Revoque half-brother to a couple of juvenile winners, he hails from a stable more than capable of producing a first time out two-year-old winner and, from stall nine, is taken to make a winning debut. Alan Berry has a good line to market leader Wares Home having trained Birikina to beat Karl Burke's horse at Hamilton. Catch The Wind made an encouraging debut when third behind Four Amigos at Lingfield last month and has to be respected on that evidence as does Kuringai, who more experience than most but is likely to again find at least one too good. With Lynda Ramsden having such a good record with her runners at the track, Yarn Spinner is another worthy of a mention but he would probably want a softer surface.
