Verdict
Catch The Cat and Midnight Parkes come here in winning form, but we will take a chance with OnThe Trail. This event is named after the prolific sprinter Chaplins Club, who was trained by David Chapman, and he would no doubt dearly love to win this prize. He runs three, Soaked, Queen Of Night and our selection On The Trail, who appears to have just the better recent form.He finished a close up third on the all-weather at Southwell last time, but his previous effort at Beverley when just half a length behind Fairgame Man makes very good reading in the context of this event. Midnight Parkes bounced back to form with a victory over course and distance last time and has to be feared by all. Meanwhile Catch The Cat comes into the argument following his success up at Musselburgh. In a very trick event Tommy Smith and Kings College Boy can also take a hand in the finish, but On The Trail is very well treated and gets our vote.
