Verdict

Mark Johnston sent out last year’s winner of this Listed contest and his Godolphin colt Dark Vision has every chance having won the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot last month. Beringer can also figure if at his best on his return having finished a creditable second to subsequent Group 1 winner Lord North in last season’s Cambridgeshire but ESCOBAR beat the latter when successful in last year’s Balmoral Handicap at Ascot. Below par in a couple of outings last month, a chance is taken recent wind surgery brings a return to form and David O’Meara’s charge gets the vote. Wadilsafa is having his second outing after wind surgery and has the past form to figure but Oh This Is Us seems more at home on the all-weather nowadays and Foxtrot Lady has come up short in numerous attempts at this level so far.
