Verdict

Not a bad nursery where we can shortlist Ratukidul, Dance Flower, Lady Misha, and Glorious Step, and the vote goes to Ratukidul. The Danehill filly defied a bad start and some greenness to get up close home and land a Folkestone maiden last month, when she gave the impression that the step up would be ideal. Darryll Holland was glowing in his praise of her that day and now Kieren Fallon gets the leg up, and with improvement to come we can see her being too good for these rivals. Top weight Glorious Step was bogged down in the Deauville mud last time, but back over a trip and on ground that both suited when she won at Windsor in August, she comes back into the equation, especially with John Gosden really hitting form. She is respected, while Dance Flower showed us enough over seven furlongs at Doncaster last time to suggest that this step up to a mile may not be beyond her, despite her breeding suggesting that it might. Of the remainder, Lady Misha is likely to be thereabouts, based on an unlucky second at Newcastle over this trip last time out. She has handled decent ground well enough earlier in the campaign although recent form indicates her preference is for cut. For us though, Ratukidul has the right credentials and can follow up that debut success.
