Verdict

Allan Swinbank's decision to keep Alfie Flits on the go during the summer is fancied to be reap dividends in this Listed contest where Camrose and Lost Soldier Three can also be expected to go well. Lost Soldier Three won on his seasonal debut last year and, with his yard in good form, a bold bid is anticipated. This trip is ideal for him and, as the going should not be an inconvenience, the son of Barathea can make this a good test for the rest. On face value, Camrose has a bit to find on last season's form. But he has been revitalised since being fitted with blinkers and, with race fitness on his side, a big run can be expected on ground that suits him ideally. However, Alfie Flits looks to be going the right way and has far more scope for improvement. His second behind the smart Librettist gave a solid indication of what this son of Machiavellian is capable of and, with more improvement anticipated, this looks a solid opening for Swinbank's charge to further enhance his profile.
