Verdict

Cool Macavity looks harshly treated for his win in a 7f Lingfield maiden, though Matthew Lawson takes off 7lb. Chosen Character carries a penalty for his win at Haydock but continues on the upgrade and should make his presence felt. He makes more appeal than recent Doncaster third Dubai Celebration and Great Shot, who is probably high enough in the weights now. Mark Johnston sets a poser here, however, saddling both the consistent Tasfeya and HOME OFFICE with preference for the latter. His defeat of Motivado at Wolverhampton in November is turning out to be decent form and he's probably needed both starts this year.
