Verdict

BRETON ROCK is not the force of old having last won in 2017 but looks most likely to run his race in a tricky contest. David Simcock’s charge ran well for third in a Group 2 at Doncaster recently and has won in heavy going in the past. First Contact struggled after winning a Listed race in France last year and has his first outing since May while Main Edition has been rested having landed the German 1000 Guineas earlier in the year. Mitchum Swagger is another returning from a lay-off though beat Muntadab in soft ground at Newmarket at the end of last season while Sir Thomas Gresham has plenty to find on these terms and Makzeem was also engaged at Ascot today.
