In depth

Verdict

Beverley Bullet is the only course and distance winner having won here last month though he was well beaten when tackling a handicap at this level at Newmarket on Saturday. Nameitwhatyoulike hasn't won for a very long time but has been competing at a higher level as had the ex-French-trainer AL ERAYG. Tim Easterby's charge was narrowly beaten in a Class 2 handicap at Musselburgh on his penultimate start, form that could prove good enough here. Tommy G finished in front of him at Doncaster last time but the selection was staying on better at the finish. The selection's stable companion Parys Mountain enters the fray in winning form having scored by 7l at Catterick so a 6lb penalty shouldn't prevent another big run while Queen's Sergent dropped into this class for the first time at Ayr and once again showed her liking for soft ground.
