ICARIO (NAP) did well on the Flat and over jumps for Gordon Elliott and suggested a victory was imminent for new connections when beaten a neck over a trip too short at Catterick. He came here last month and had few problems landing a handicap over the trip on soft ground so a 3lb rise looks lenient and he can go in again. Marengo has managed to win five races but was returning from well over two years off when well beaten at Haydock last month so may need another run or two. Ice Galley gained the only victory of his career over the course and distance in September but was a long way behind the selection last time. Gabrial's Star won a couple of Southwell claimers at the turn of the year but hasn't run since April while Restive's victory over the trip at Musselburgh was on very fast going. Buonarroti couldn't handle heavy going at Ayr when well supported but is better than that.
