          Verdict

          These type of races are always hard to assess and so a narrow vote is given to La Esperanza, Birdie Birdie and Caj may provide most danger. David Barron's filly displayed plenty of ability in her first two races at Carlisle and Musselburgh before flopping over the six furlong trip at Haydock. She doesn't look badly treated for her handicap debut and could bounce back to her best over this minumum trip. Caj has had plenty of chances in pretty weak company and may have to drop a couple of pounds before winning. However she is a consistent performer and could again get in the money. Birdie Birdie hasn't been beatebn far in a couple of sellers recently and appears to be on the upgrade, she could prove to be the main threat to the selection. It is a wide open affair with Emefdream and The Italian Job two others worthy of respect, but La Esperanza has been given a chance by the handicapper and she gets the verdict.
