In depth

Verdict

Kalokairi, Bouggler, and Capal Dubh Alainn make the shortlist in a trappy finale, with Kalokairi set to make the long journey from Arundel pay off. Capal Dubh Alainn has shown a glimmer of ability in his three maidens to date but in his favour is the fact that this looks the easiest task he has faced. He can reach a place. Bouggler showed some promise in three outings as a two-year-old and stepped up on that when finishing a close second at Beverley on his seasonal debut, despite meeting trouble in running. He can go close. Only modest as a juvenile, Kalokairi has shown improvement since stepping up in distance this term at Warwick last time finishing a close third. He seems to have the most solid form credentials and Kalokairi can help pay his diesel money by winning here.
