Verdict

Serena Brotherton has long been one of the go-to pilots in such contests and can prove the point on SO GRATEFUL. The combination came home a respectable runner-up at Chelmsford two starts back, and the gelding then went under by a short head over this trip at Thirsk. It's hard not to see him involved. Point Of Woods has made an excellent start to the campaign with a win at Thirsk and a narrow defeat at Redcar - both over this trip. He's up 8lb as a result but is still a key player. Gatwick Kitten came good on just a second start for new connections and should contend up 3lb, and the one to note for money is Polam Lane who seems to be steadily coming to the boil.
