Verdict

Manhattan Jack should be able to take this seller, with Ciacole and Bonjour Bond likely to provide the dangers. The selection is a lightly raced sort who has improved steadily in three outings so far. One of those was over course and distance, when he ran well for a long way but was eventually 11 lengths adrift of the winner in an ordinary maiden. Stepped up an extra furlong at Hamilton last time he was second in a claimer, and despite the drop back to 10 furlongs here he should be good enough to take this at these weights if reproducing that effort. Ciacole was the winner of a similar contest over this trip on heavy ground at Beverley in May, but has disappointed badly since when stepped up to 1m 4f. Back over 10 furlongs we should see a better effort but the ground is the major worry and any rain would be a big help. Bonjour Bond was behind Ciacole in that Beverley contest but has a 5lb pull here and may be up to reversing the placings especially on this better ground. Small stakes are advised here then, and if you must have a bet then Manhattan Jack is the one.
