        Verdict

        Sand And Stars was much better for the step up in trip last time and he can take this staying contest, with Man At Arms, Masked, and Jelly Baby others to consider. The Mark Tompkins-trained selection has a plum draw on the inside here and even though they are going 1m 4f that is an advantage. There was plenty to like about his effort at Thirsk last time, where he tried to make all, and with this course suiting that type of runner he can dictate and take this race. Man At Arms will be popular, with Darryll Holland in the plate, and it will be interesting to see the effect of the first-time visor. He has a a fair bit to do from stall four, and is also a hold up horse, so he is going to have to be at his best to come from behind here and we will oppose him. Masked appreciated the step up to 11 furlongs at Hamilton last time and shaped as though he would get this without any problem. He does not have to find much to be competitive and we expect him to be just that. Of the others, Jelly Baby has gone well on the polytrack, with back-to-back wins and also has a chance if handling the turf, but despite that she still has a little bit to find to prevail, and we will stick with Sand And Stars to produce the goods.
