      Barn Owl, a son of Frankel, won a novices' race over 1m3f here before runner-up in a Sandown handicap over shorter but CHALK STREAM made all for a convincing victory at York and a double looks on the cards. Chase The Dollar was beaten a long way on soft ground at Goodwood having been a beaten favourite in a course and distance handicap while Grantley tackles the trip for the first time after a disappointing run at Doncaster. Carrigillihy completed a double in lower-grade handicaps before failing to obtain a clear run on his hat-trick attempt at Thirsk.
