Verdict

Harry May and Venetian King have both shown promise from limited opportunities so far and have to be respected but this looks to be a virtual match between Munsef and Rathor, with preference for the first mentioned of the pair. The selection stepped up on juvenile form when a close second to Mark Johnston's Tarraman at Doncaster on his reappearance, when having the 88-rated Top The Charts back in third place. A reproduction of that effort may suffice for the son of Zafonic, who may be too classy for his main rival Rathor. Henry Cecil has a fine record with is runners here over the years but this son of Machiavellian does not look to be anything out of the ordinary judged by his debut second at Leicester and, while there may be improvement to come, today's faster surface is not certain to suit. Howard Johnson's Venetian King should improve for today's longer trip on his return and has to be respected along with Declan Daly's Harry May, who showed promise first time out at Newmarket. Munsef has an obvious chance though and gets the vote.
