Verdict

This race should produce plenty of future winners and, having held entries in some of the showpiece events at York, Richard Hannon's decision to run PEARL ACCLAIM is interesting. The son of Acclamation was sent off at a shade of odds-on on debut and though beaten by an unfancied stable companion - there was to be no disgrace in defeat as the winner has campaigned in Group company since. He made amends by accounting for Baron Run at Sandown and should handle the step up in class. Red Clubs continues to carry all before him as a sire of juveniles and Hamilton winner, Luck, is likely to take a hand while King Dragon and Ashaadd head into this race having won contests at Windsor when there was plenty of give underfoot. The latter had given Windsor Castle Stakes sixth, Ask Dad, a serious fright on debut and could be anything.
