      Verdict

      Saeed bin Suroor's yard has been in the doldrums for such a long time that any winner would be welcome. CONFIDENT KID probably hasn't shown his best form yet and gave supporters of the odds-on Khairaat a fright at Pontefract. The form may not amount to much but there should be more to come. Irish raider Warp Factor has been racing at Hamilton, including at Listed level, but he never looked like winning when tackling a Class 4 handicap last time. Imperial Focus had shown potential in maidens before a reasonable handicap debut at York while La Salesse was obviously not at her best when a long way last at Pontefract. Calarules was well beaten at Carlisle and may need more time.
