Verdict

LEYLAND was doing his best work at the finish over 1m1f at Ballinrobe so it's a surprise to see Dermot Weld dropping him down in distance here. However, his form looks far superior to that of his rivals and the Peintre Celebre colt should open his account if the soft ground brings his stamina into play. Consonance was only a neck in front of The Ring Is King in One Fine Day's race at Listowel and there should be little between the pair again here while a market move for Tracey Collins' newcomer Amhras Thomas would probably be significant.
