In depth

Verdict

It is hard to get away from the chances of Doctor Fremantle and he is a confident choice ahead of Banquet and Daddy's Boy. Sir Michael Stoute's colt is bred in the purple, being by Saddler's Wells out of a Rainbow Quest mare. You would think with that sort of pedigree soft ground would be preferred but he ran an absolute blinder on his fast ground debut when a two length runner up to the well regarded Hawaana. Today's extra furlong will be ideal and he looks the one to be on. Banquet could be the pick of the newcomers. Mick Channon's charge cost 100 thousand guineas and is a well bred son of Dr Fong. The market should be watched closely for a move on this one. Daddy's Boy was given a gentle introduction at Newbury and should improve for the run. However Doctor Fremantle has plenty going for him today, certainly ground and trip will be ideal and he look the one to beat.
