Verdict

Certain Lad drew well clear of a subsequent winner on debut at Redcar but a high draw is not ideal and Charles Bishop prefers newcomer and stablemate Dr Smolder, a half-brother to a winning miler who is among the first crop of Bungle Inthejungle. URBAN ICON has stall one so will have no excuses. He’s giving a couple of pounds to Certain Lad but was also impressive first-time up at Windsor when having more than three lengths to spare over today’s rival Even Keel. Critical Data, who showed promise at Leicester despite running green, also represents the Hannon stable and he may have more scope than Indian Viceroy and Mayfair Madame.
