Verdict

BARQ has the form that sets him apart and he can comfortably see off the main danger Danehill Sunset. Only Wear 'Em Out Wilf mastered the Green Desert colt at Yarmouth last time out when he paid the price for racing too keenly in a first-time tongue-tie. He wouldn't want to do that again but with the ground in his favour and a modest bunch of opponents he looks the one to beat. Danehill Sunset has an official rating of 72 which entitles him to plenty of respect, however his three runs to date have been promising rather than spectacular and the feeling is that he needs to improve after his mini-break. Far View is a potential improver on this first run as a three-year-old, Magic Jack is a late-comer to the track and needs a market check, whilst there may be a tendency to feel that Warm Memories is better than his two most recent runs but the evidence (at the moment) is that he isn't a stable star and hopes may be resting on this return to seven furlongs where he made his debut in June.
