      Verdict

LOMBOK is handicapped to strike and is preferred here to Broughtons Point and Colonel Flay. Michael Bell's gelding can race off the same mark as when narrowly pipped at Brighton and indeed his last win came off the same mark at Nottingham last July. Assuming the ground stays on the quick side he could be the one, with Jamie Spencer back on top today. Hidden is open to improvement after three maiden runs, the best of which came behind Park View at Thirsk, whilst Arab League's form reads well and he will make them all go from the front. Colonel Flay is a course and distance winner and he is handicapped to strike with a solid record at this time of year, and along with the in-form Broughtons Point rates the main danger. The latter is a fine filly but it seems she gives her best at Yarmouth and is therefore opposed. As is the hurdler Grand Bay unless the market screams otherwise, whilst Seventh Hill continues to pay with the handicapper for his admirable consistency.
