Verdict
Those with racing experience do not look to be good enough on all known evidence and this may go to one of the many newcomers with marginal preference for Oscar Snowman over Opera Cape and Yankee George. The last mentioned is a son of Cape Cross trained by Mick Channon, who has done well with his two-year-old runners this year. The fact that he has already been gelded is of concern though, while Richard Hannon's juveniles have been slow to come to hand this term so Genre is likely to need the run. Stablemate Cape Presto showed little sign of encouragement first time out but, along with Paul Cole's Art Historian, he may improve for the step up in trip. Opera Cape really takes the eye on pedigree but the stable of Sylvester Kirk has yet to hit form and a better bet looks to be Oscar Snowman. Marcus Tregoning is more than capable of producing a two-year-old to win first time out and the son of Selkirk looks a likely type on pedigree being out of a half-sister to Lammtara. He may be good enough to score on his debut.
