In depth

Verdict

Kostar, One Way Ticket and Fromsong all have their work cut out under 7lb penalties and preference is for Ivory Lace, with Salviati rated the best of the remainder. The selection had little chance form a bad draw at Windsor two starts ago but ran much like his old self last time when just failing to catch Intriguing Glimpse at Lingfield. The handicapper has seen fit to raise the four-year-old 3lbs in future handicaps for that run and the hint is taken. One Way Ticket followed up his narrow Ripon success with an easier victory at Warwick on Sunday and has to be respected given his current form but everything was in his favour on the latter occasion and Milton Bradley's five-year-old is likely to find this tougher. Stablemate Salviati has slipped to a fair mark but is not too consistent and is held by the selection on running last time. The Jobber has an absence ot overcome, while Simpsons Mount seems to have gone off the boil of late and of more interest may be top weight Fromsong. He was all out to beat Bluebok over course and distance last time though and this looks a better race. Kostar was good value for his win at Windsor last week but that was over six furlongs though and he is likely to be outpaced back over the minimum trip today in a contest that is taken to go to Ivory Lace.
