In depth
Verdict
Otototm has to be respected with the step up in trip expected to suit but it will be a surprise if this does not go to Tempsford, with Tasneef looking the best of the remainder. The selection looks a typical Sir Mark Prescott improver and has won his two starts this term since being stepped up in trip. Admittedly they were both on the all-weather but there is no reason to suggest that the son of Bering should not reproduce the form back on turf and, under a 6lb penalty, he gets a confident vote. Otototm, a son of Mtoto trained by Alec Stewart, is the obvious danger and there should be more to come from the Brighton handicap winner over this longer trip. The remainder make limited appeal although Tasneef ran better at Folkestone behind the in-form Tbm Can last time, while the reappearing maiden Ela Jay could be better than she has shown so far. A market move for Javelin would be interesting but, as we have said, it will be a surprise if Tempsford cannot supplement earlier successes at Wolverhampton and Lingfield.
