Verdict
There could be plenty more to come from the lightly raced Crail but, as he has the worst of the draw to contend with after a long lay-off, he is taken on with Sri Diamond, whose yard is flying at present. However, the booking of Kieren Fallon for Acomb also suggests that Mick Easterby means business with his charge and the four-year-old should not be dismissed lightly this evening. The same comments apply to Fen Gypsy and Instructor, who have both done enough to suggest that they have a race of this nature within them now that they have proved themselves to be effective back on turf. The latter has the more solid profile from those two on this ground though and he just edges that personal argument. Even so, Sylvester Kirk seems to have found the secret formula to getting the best out of his string at present and, from a mark of just 76, this looks to be the ideal time to catch a hold of the lightly raced Sri Diamond before the handicapper gets the opportunity to do his job.
