Verdict
Top weight Play That Tune gave little sign of encouragement on her first start since leaving Henry Cecil for Mark Johnston's stable at York last month and, unless either Salagama or Shamara show dramatic improvement, this should go to Polar Jem. George Margarson's filly is in the form of her life at present and the daughter of Polar Falcon comes here on the back of cosy wins in handicaps at Ripon and Kempton in her last two starts. She is taken to make the most of what seems a very favourable mark. Island Rapture faces a stiff task from 4lbs out of the weights proper and of more interest may be Paul Cole's twice raced Salagama, who needs to improve on the form of her reappearance fourth behind Celtic Heroine but is entitled to do so. Polar Jem has an obvious chance though and gets the vote to complete a hat-trick.
