Verdict

Eqbaal stepped up from the form of his debut outing at Newbury when finding just Secret Dancer too good on a return visit to the same venue last month and John Dunlop's colt has to be respected but it may be worth taking a chance on Sir Michael Stoute's newcomer Kensington Oval, who gets the vote over King Olav. The last mentioned is a well bred newcomer from the Michael Jarvis yard and he has to be respected but the son of Halling is far from certain to handle the testing conditions so may be best watched. Henry Cecil's Seventh Cavalry showed some ability on his Newmarket debut but needs to improve to trouble the judge, while Luca Cumani's Sadler's Wells colt Kossack is not certain to handle the ground being out of a Darshaan mare. Catholic Hill has plenty to find with Seventh Cavalry on Newmarket running and preference is for Kensington Oval. Sir Michael Stoute's colt is another by Sadler's Wells but, being out of a Rainbow Quest mare, he should handle the cut in the ground and he gets the vote to make a winning debut.
