Verdict
Multi Talented should now be ready to strike and can do so at the expense of Montpelier, Possible Pardon and Mounsey Castle. Multi Talented was given a patient ride when scoring over fences at Folkestone in March but was rested after being pulled up at Plumpton subsequently. In need of the run on his return at Bangor, the seven-year-old got round safely over the course and distance last month when second to Orswell Crest, and has a sporting chance going one better. Montpelier defied a penalty when beating Iris Bleu at Cheltenham in December 2001 but has not had a great deal of racing since. Tailed off at Stratford in May, he has been striding out well at home, but may need to come down the weights. Mounsey Castle was a disappointment at Kempton recently, failing to take advantage of the fall of Rodalko, as he allowed Even More to catch and beat him. Not one to rely on then, and so a bigger danger may be his stablemate Possible Pardon. He ploughed through the heavy ground at Chepstow in January, and although folding tamely at Newton Abbot, may make a bold bid to do it from the front again. Scotmail Boy makes the journey down from County Durham but has a bit to do at the weights, while Lord 'N' Master has yet to recapture his form. In a wide open contest, Multi Talented gets a tentative vote.
