Verdict
Chief Yeoman gets our vote here, with Royal Darshaan and Trusted Instinct possibly the ones for the placings. The selection was lightly raced on the Flat but made a fine impression on his hurdling debut when winning by five lengths at Kempton. He looks to hold a good chance of following up. Earlsfield Raider has showed little in a light Flat career to date, but Royal Darshaan showed promise when placed on the all-weather between November 2002 and January of this year, proving that he stayed 10 furlongs in the process. Trusted Instinct won a 10 furlong maiden at Fairyhouse in September but ran poorly on his hurdling debut at Huntingdon nine days ago. Wages won a six-furlong maiden on Lingfield's AW in December 2002 but failed to build on that, including when blinkered. The best of Canatrice's form came when winning an 11-furlong seller on Lingfield's Turf in August, while Splendid Touch is an unraced daughter of Distinctly North. All in all, a repeat of Chief Yeoman's debut run should be good enough here.
