In depth
Verdict
Keep a close eye on the betting this race but the Barry Hills-trained Capt Pugwash catches the eye, with Medici looking to be the main danger. Trained by Barry Hills, the selection will be ridden by Mick Fitzgerald. By Karinga Bay out of an unraced Final Straw mare, Capt Pugwash also has some Flat speed in his blood and, while all that glitters is not gold, this runner has obvious credentials here. By Silver Hawk out of a Caerleon mare, Katoof has something to like on breeding, while Jonjo O'Neill's Medici, a French import, showed plenty of promise on his bumper debut at Haydock, and is entitled to come on for that run. Philip Hobbs runs the Roselier gelding Roschal, while Saxon Magic's dam won a couple of two-mile hurdles. Tiger Tips Lad is maybe one to give a quick look to in the market but this looks for us to lie between Capt Pugwash, Medici and, maybe, Katoof, with our vote going to Capt Pugwash.
