In depth

Verdict

Donna Giovanna and Diktatorship look to be the pick among those to have raced previously but this may go to one of the newcomers with preference for Faith And Reason over High Class Problem. The last mentioned is a half-brother by Mozart to the useful Nice One Clare and hails from the Paul Cole stable that is quite capable of producing one to win first time out. Mick Channon has done well with his youngsters this term so Trimwaki has to be respected, while the likelihood is that Richard Hannon's Porters and Ed Dunlop's Liger will need more time as is the case with most of their respective stable's two-year-olds. Jamie Osborne's Donna Giovanna has run to a similar level of form in both her starts so far and has claims as does John Gosden's Diktatorship, who caught the eye running on at Doncaster first time out. The vote though goes to Godolphin's Faith And Reason, who has a decent pedigree that suggests that today's ground will suit ideally and he is taken to provide the boys in blue with their first juvenile winner of the campaign.
