Verdict

Several interesting contenders line up for this three-year-old handicap including recent maiden winners Babe Maccool and Victory Design but the vote goes to Missatacama, who is preferred to Adoration. The last mentioned ran out the six-length winner of a Beverley handicap last time and has an obvious chance under his penalty, provided that he stays the extra distance. Of more concern though may be the faster ground, as Mark Johnston's gelding has shown all of his best form on a soft surface and he may be best watched today. Mossmann Gorge also has a 6lb penalty to carry for his win at Chepstow last time but that also was on a softer surface and of more interest may be Rawaabet, for who the booking of Kerrin McEvoy takes the eye. Resplendent Nova has been given a chance by the handicapper and Richard Quinn takes the ride so he is another to consider, along with Babe Maccool although the Barry Hills-trained colt has more to do than when landing what did not look to be the strongest of Newmarket maidens last time. Jeremy Noseda's Victory Design has improved with each start and could be of interest in a handicap for the first time but preference is for Missatacama. Declan Daly's filly showed progressive form on the all-weather during the winter and was good value for her debut success on turf at Newmarket in a similar race last month. A 5lb higher mark may not be enough to prevent her from follow up.
