In depth

Verdict

The vote here goes to Aberdovey ahead of World Series and Madhavi. The selection ha had just two runs this season, but looked to be coming to hand last time when a staying on fifth in a competitive fillies' handicap. She has scope for further improvement and looks a reasonable selection. World Series won quite well at Folkestone despite hanging right but, being lightly raced, he could yet improve. Entailment was just beaten by The Fun Merchant last time and is afforded respect, while Barbary Coast has yet to hit form this season. Much as Madhavi may have been flattered by her third at Windsor last time, you cannot rule her out a track that could suit. The same trainer's Love Affair looks to have a chance the equal of her's, although the latter was well behind Aberdovey at Newmarket last time. That returns us to that last-named horse, who gets the vote.
