Verdict

The winning run of Blow Your Horn came to a halt last time at Newcastle and he now reverts to Turf but also off a notably higher rating. Those at the head of the weights were well beaten latest but Omniscient makes most appeal as he was bang there until fading late on in the Northumberland Plate and therefore should prove well suited to this drop in trip. CRESCENT LAKE is enjoying a good season with three wins under his belt and had little chance against a rapid improver last time. He's only been nudged up 1lb and has trip and ground to suit. Pons Aelius usually makes a good fist of things from the front and is another for whom the move back to 1m6f could well prove beneficial, whilst Saratoga Gold would be a player if putting a mid-July disappointment at Ascot behind him. Secret Shadow was engaged in the 3.45 at Newmarket yesterday.
