In depth

Verdict

The market should be a good guide for obvious reasons but KING OF CONQUEST, a son of Lope De Vega, was an expensive yearling and Charlie Appleby frequently sends useful juveniles here on debut. He is just preferred to Aztec Empire, a son of Sea The Stars, and representing a yard enjoying a stellar season. Both Spinaround and Artaois are by Kodiac and represent high-quality yards while Richard Hannon's Dark Angel colt Hapap and Ralph Beckett's Vee Sight, a well-named son of Churchill, are others to note in an interesting contest with the future in mind.
