Verdict

Call Me Lord likes it here but was only third in this two years ago. Thyme Hill was second in the Stayers’ Hurdle last season but has been confined to chases this term and this may be an insufficient test of stamina. The enigmatic Goshen was placed in the Long Walk in December so stamina shouldn’t be an issue but he’s finished tailed off the last twice including when behind KNAPPERS HILL (NAP) in the National Spirit at Fontwell in February. The latter has progressed from handicaps this season and looks the one to be on, though Theatre Glory was probably biting off more than she could chew in the Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham last month.

Formwatch

Goshen (FR) 10-3 (11-10) Jumped right throughout, led, ridden along after 3 out, soon headed, weakened after 2 out, last of 5, dist behind Brewin'upastorm (11-4) at Fontwell 2m 3f (1) gd in Feb.

Knappers Hill (IRE) 7-4fav (11-10) Tracked leader, shaken up approaching 2 out, soon ridden along and every chance, kept on run-in but not pace to challenge, 3rd of 5, 7l behind Brewin'upastorm (11-4) at Fontwell 2m 3f (1) gd in Feb.

Call Me Lord (FR) 50-1 (11-9) Off the pace and always rear-division, outpaced and struggling 4 out, never a factor, tailed off, 20th of 26, dist behind Langer Dan (11-4) at Cheltenham 2m 5f hcp (1) sft in Mar.

Thyme Hill 15-2 (11-7) Towards rear, pecked 12th, ridden next, struggling 4 out, well beaten 3 out, 8th of 10, 35 1/4l behind The Real Whacker (11-7) at Cheltenham 3m (1) sft in Mar.

Theatre Glory (IRE) 50-1 (11-5) Held up towards rear, in touch before 2 out, driven and outpaced final bend, well held 7th last, kept on, 6th of 9, 11 1/2l behind Honeysuckle (11-5) at Cheltenham 2m 4f (1) sft in Mar.
