In depth

Verdict

Riodan has plenty of experience and with the lack of winners penalties, she can make it count against Anchors Away and The Gleaner. Riodan was second to the former when they met here a couple of weeks ago as she was overhauled close home. She pulled too hard in the early stages of the race and provided that she can be got under control, there are obvious chances for compensation. Anchors Away looks arguably the better long term prospect. A half-brother to Simply Dashing - there are races to be won once he is sent over the obstacles. The Gleaner has performed well in two low-key bumpers. Today's going could be a big worry as he has an action that appears to suit some cut in the ground. The Longfella often races prominently and is sure to be up there from flagfall. Action Strasse was easy to back on debut and is watched on Monday. Riodan has the penalties and weights in her favour and we shall side with her in the finale.
