In depth

Verdict

A low-brow but competitive heat. King's Bounty has been a little disappointing over the bigger obstacles but Tim Easterby's gelding did much of his winning over hurdles on a softer surface and we'll back him to score here on this occasion. Devil's Run ran a career best last time out at Newcastle for John Wade. He is however prone to the odd jumping error and is watched here. Ferdy Murphy's Rachnamara bids to post a maiden victory over chase fences. He should have few problems with the trip as he stayed extreme distances at the course over hurdles. He is yet to race on ground as soft as this and the market should prove the best guide as to whether the stable believe he can win today. Grangewick Flight is consistent but has plenty to find on official figures. Ex-pointer Dionn Righ is at least open to improvement although he will find life tough under the penalty.
