    Verdict

There is another disappointing turnout for this contest with just the six runners lining up and it is hard to get away from Alan Swinbank's recent Wetherby winner Little Lu, who should not be inconvenienced by the slight drop back in trip and she gets the verdict ahead of Tucker and Speed Up. The last mentioned has shown gradual improvement in recent outings, latterly when a good second at Aintree, and Ferdy Murphy's gelding clearly appreciates this better ground. Never Cross showed little sign of ability on the level and is hard to recommend, while Danehill Silver has been well held in recent starts but may do better back on faster ground. Micky Hammond's Tucker had to work hard to just get the better of Histoire De Moeurs at Wetherby earlier on this month and has to be respected but another recent Wetherby winner Little Lu has more solid claims and he is preferred.
